Yes – in our wellness oasis, parents can relax and recharge after an active day of vacation. Since sauna sessions are also suitable for children, we hold a family sauna day twice a week, when kids can join their parents or grandparents in the wellness area.
Wellness & activities
If you want to really relax on holiday, our wellness area is the right place for you. Our Finnish sauna, bio sauna and steam bath ensure relaxation and our infrared cabin is good for the muscles and joints. Since going to the sauna is also healthy for children, there is a family sauna day twice a week, on which the kids can go to the wellness area with their parents or grandparents. Our large relaxation room with the tea lounge invites you to dream.
For the active part of the holiday, a tennis and multi-purpose sports field, archery course, fitness room, curling rink and the seasonal weekly program await our guests.

We can consider ourselves lucky to also have the perfect wellness area right on our doorstep - namely nature and our mountains. Health is very important here at 1,500 m above sea level: the fresh air with few allergens is beneficial for everyone!
Who needs a pool when there are endless adventures waiting for the kids! Our hotel doesn’t have a swimming pool – and for a good reason! Our young guests simply don’t have time to splash around. Instead of doing laps, it’s all about "No Pool is Cool!" Here, it’s all about exploring nature, playing, skiing, sledding, hiking, and having tons of fun. With our varied kids' program and loads of exciting activities, there’s never a dull moment. Many families who initially had concerns about the lack of a pool leave completely delighted and grateful for more relaxed family time. "A pool? We didn’t miss it at all!" – This is feedback we hear time and time again, and you’ll see it reflected in many of our reviews.
For anyone still craving a bit of water fun: In Hintertux, there are two hotels where external guests can use the swimming pools for a small fee. The nearest public pool is in Mayrhofen, just a 30-minute drive away, and the Erlebnistherme Zillertal in Fügen, around 45 minutes by car. During summer, we set up a big water slide next to the playground for warm days. Hintertux also has a small outdoor thermal pool just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. Plus, our guests can use the outdoor pool in Finkenberg for free – just a 20-minute drive from the hotel.

Is there a wellness area at the hotel?
Is there a pool?
No – intentionally not. Many families tell us after their vacation that they didn't miss the pool at the Hintertuxerhof at all. For those who still fancy some water fun: In Hintertux, there are two hotels whose swimming pools can be used by external guests for a small fee. The nearest public swimming pool is in Mayrhofen, only about a 30-minute drive away, and the Zillertal Thermal Spa in Fügen is about 45 minutes from the hotel. In summer, our large and small water slides right next to the playground provide refreshment on warm days. There is also a small outdoor thermal pool in Hintertux, which you can reach in just a few minutes on foot. Our guests can also use the outdoor swimming pool in Finkenberg free of charge.
Which saunas are available?
Our Finnish sauna, bio sauna, and steam room offer relaxation. The infrared cabin is beneficial for muscles and joints. Our spacious relaxation room with a tea lounge invites you to unwind.
Is there a fitness room in the hotel?
Yes – a fitness room is also available for our guests.
Are there guided hikes or activity programs?
Yes – depending on the season, we offer guided family hikes as part of our weekly program. The hiking program of the Zillertal Alps Nature Park is also included for our guests. Depending on the tour, there may be additional costs for taxi or gondola rides.
Can we rent hiking poles or child carriers?
Yes – hiking poles, child carriers, strollers, and other practical equipment are available for rent, subject to availability. In winter, we also have sleds for rent.
